A Wolf in Extra Large Clothing

By Logan73

I met the Wolf family the summer before starting college. I was eighteen years old and thrilled to be out of the festering cesspool that had been high school I remember it was on a Tuesday afternoon when I was feeling especially heady regarding my new freedom, and so reasoned that a leisurely walk around the neighborhood at a time when I would ordinarily have been crammed behind a desk would be especially liberating.

Now I should mention that such walks were not a very common activity for me, being rather bookish and not terribly fond of physical exertion, nor of the great outdoors in general, but as I said, this was a special occasion. I had traveled only a few blocks when I was struck suddenly and painfully by football.

I was too surprised to really get hung up on the pain, so when I rose to my feet, my first thought was not of the blood rushing from my nose, nor the possibility of a broken bone, but I was concerned rather with the origin of the unexpected projectile.

I did not have to wait long for my answer. Before I had time to do more than blink in confusion I felt a hand on my shoulder and a deep voice was asking me if I was alright.

“I’m fine,” I answered, quite calmly I think given the circumstances. My vision was coming back into focus and I could make out the source of the voice. I was a little taken aback by the figure before me. He had long blond hair past his shoulders and appeared to be about my age, but while I stood a respectable, but by no means showy, 5’10” this man was a burly giant of at least 6’4”. His broad face and toothy smile conveyed warmth and friendliness, but under his baggy clothes I could see that he was packing considerable muscle. I had better be nice. He was talking again, so I made an effort to pay attention.

“I’m really sorry, man,” he said. “I didn’t see you there and it just got away from me. Wow, that is a lot of blood.”

I touched my nose gingerly and flinched at the pain, for the first time conscious of my injury. My fingers came away bright red.

“I don’t think it’s broken,” I said tentatively, poking at my wound again for good measure. ”Don’t worry about it. It was an accident, and it doesn’t even hurt that much.” That last was a bit of an exaggeration, but I didn’t want to show weakness in the face of such an imposing stranger.

“Well, why don’t you come inside and get some water on it? You can’t walk around like that. I’m Jim, by the way.”

I look up and saw that he was beckoning me towards one in a sea of nondescript, suburban houses that lined the street. As we walked inside, he made no effort to pick up his football from the ground, which I thought was classy.

“I’m Mike,” I replied, still a bit dazed.

The interior of the house was not what one would suspect from its quiet suburban lawn. It was very messy, but not in the heavy, cluttered way favored by packrats. It was a kinetic sort of messy, as if the house itself possessed a great deal of energy. It seemed odd to me that such an obviously active dwelling could now be so eerily quiet. These were my thoughts as my host escorted me to the bathroom.

A few minutes and one hot washcloth later I was feeling good as new. Jim apologized some more and I assured him that it was nothing, but that I had better be getting home. As I was leaving, I thought I caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of my eye, causing to turn sharply.

It was only a shadow and it moved quickly, but I had time enough to get a good look at it. It was definitely a woman’s shadow and it seemed to me (although it could have just been an artifact of the now setting sun) that it was a very long shadow indeed.

* * * * * * * * * * * * *

I’m not sure what made me go back to that house the next day. It went against my instincts, my temperament and my nose, which somehow managed to hurt even more after a good night’s sleep. However, I guess I found something about the place compelling, because I did go back… again and again. Jim and I quickly became fast friends and before long were spending practically all of our free time together.

For the first few days, I thought the shadow I had seen was only a figment of my imagination. I never saw anyone else around the house and I was about to conclude that Jim lived alone, however unlikely that was for a guy his age. Then I met his family.

I had come by to see if Jim wanted to go see the new monster movie at the local dollar theater. I knocked on the door, waited a bit, and was about to go ahead and let myself in when I heard the latch click. I looked up and saw, not Jim, but a woman. She was in her late thirties, with bleached blond hair and skin that was slightly too tan. Her skin, however, was not the first thing I focused on. This woman was huge, easily the biggest I had ever seen, and when I say big I don’t mean fat,… I mean tall. In fact, I estimated that she was even taller than Jim, though not by much. She was also model thin with endless legs and a decent bosom (though I suspected there may have been more than a little silicone in there.)

“Erm… Hi,” I mumbled, unprepared for this turn of events. “Is Jim home?”

“Oh hi! You must be Lars. I’m Jane Wolf, Jim’s mother.”

“Nice to meet you,” I said, craning my neck back a little to look her in the eye.

“I’m afraid Jim’s not here right now. He’s with his sister, out somewhere., but I’ll be sure to tell him you stopped by.”

My ears perked up at the mention of a sister. If she took after the rest of the family, she was bound to be an eyeful.

“Oh, okay. Thanks.”

“It’s my pleasure, and so nice to have met you!” Call me paranoid, but her smiled seemed a little forced.

I didn’t see Jim for a couple of days after that, but when I did, his sister was with him. I won’t lie, I was a little disappointed when I found out she was 13 and about 5’2”. Oh well, you can’t win ‘em all.

“Hey man,” Jim greeted me. “Sorry I haven’t been around much lately. I’ve been doing a lot of babysitting lately. This is my sister, Jessica.”

Jessica turned away, blushing slightly. She seemed simultaneously embarrassed and annoyed by the babysitting comment. Meanwhile, this whole arrangement seemed odd to me. I had been over to Jim’s house dozens of times. Why had I never seen Jessica, or for that matter, their mother, until now? One thing was for sure, this was not a normal family.

As I spent more time at the Wolf household, my understanding of the situation gradually increased. Jessica became more and more visible, and after a while even started to tag along after me and her older brother. She seemed very shy, and I reasoned that she had just been staying out of sight until she got used to me.

Jane, on the other hand, was almost never around. When I did see her, it was only in fleeting glimpses through half closed doors. On more than one occasion I overheard the muffled sounds of her laughter, mingled with the voices of unidentified men. I got the impression that she was effectively an absentee parent, which explained the frequent babysitting by Jim of his sister. I never broached this subject with Jim, figuring it was probably sensitive territory. Besides, it was really none of my business, at least not at first.

I remember the moment when I realized Jessica had a crush on me. There was a large section of undeveloped land a couple of blocks away from his house. Sooner or later, someone was going to build another block of identical houses there, but for now it was mostly woodland. Jim and I had decided to go exploring and see if we could find anything interesting in the area before it was all ripped down. Jessica, as was her custom by now, followed along dutifully.

She was a quiet child, rarely speaking in more than monosyllables, but on this particular occasion she was feeling chatty.

“What do you think we’ll find in the woods, Lars?” The fact that she addressed me instead of her brother should have been a tip off right there.

“I don’t know. Maybe nothing, but we don’t know unless we look.”

“But it could be dangerous.”

Here Jim chimed in. “Aw, come on, Jessica. It’s not dangerous, it’s just some old trees. Besides, aren’t you tired of hanging around the house? It’s good to get out every once in a while.”

This seemed to pacify her for the time being, but she still looked uneasy. We made our way into the woods with no difficulty, and for a long time we saw nothing of interest. There were some discarded beer cans and cigarette butts. Clearly we had not been the first teenagers to come up with this idea.

The woods were getting thicker and we found ourselves starting to get cut up by brambles. I was just about to suggest we turn back when we heard a sudden rustling sound and an animal emerged from the bushes. It was only a fox, but Jessica, already on edge, panicked. She screamed, which alarmed the fox, causing him to bolt. This sudden movement made Jessica scream more and before I knew it, she had thrown herself into my arms, pressing her face against my chest.

I was bewildered at first, then she looked up at me and I realized what was going on. “Oh no,” I thought. I may have even said it out loud. Such things were invariably disastrous and extremely difficult to deal with in a sensitive fashion. I looked over at Jim, who was wearing an enigmatic expression that could have been either amusement or disapproval. Maybe it was both.

This was the first of an ever escalating number of incidents involving me and Jessica. Over time, she became more and more aggressive in her infatuation with me, and soon the shy little girl didn’t seem so shy anymore. The situation came to a head in early August.

“Oh Lars,” she cooed, batting her eyelashes in the way that only 1940’s starlets and cartoon characters do. “Do you want to take me swimming? Summer is almost over, and the weather’s perfect.”

Jim lounging across the room reading a comic book looked up at me. He didn’t speak, but I could tell what he was thinking. “Dude, end this now.”

I sighed heavily and stood up. “Look, Jessica. You’re a great kid and a good sister to Jim, but the two of us just can’t hang out together.”

She looked stunned. “What? Why not?”

“Because you’re too young. I know how you feel about me, it’s obvious, but come on. You know it’s not going to happen. You should be hanging out with boys your own age.”

She turned away from me abruptly, but not before I saw tears welling up in her eyes. “Jessica, listen,” I began, but she ran out of the room before I could finish. I looked helplessly over at Jim again, but he just nodded sympathetically.

“Look, I think I’d better take off,” I said, shaken.

“It’s cool. Don’t worry about it. She’ll get over it,” he replied. “See you around later?”

“Definitely.”

I was upset that I had hurt Jessica’s feelings, but it had to be done. There was no way around it. All the same, it would probably be better for me to steer clear of the place for a couple of days and let her cool down. As I was leaving I almost bumped into Jim’s mother, Jane. I hadn’t seen her in weeks and I was surprised that she was there. I guess I had forgotten how big she was, and I was almost knocked off my feet.

“Oh!” she exclaimed, seeming flustered. “Hi Lars. Are you leaving?”

“Uh…yeah. I have to get home now.”

“Oh okay, come back again soon.” She was talking quickly, like she was in a hurry to get rid of me.

She rushed inside the house, and I thought I heard the lock click shut behind her. Puzzled, I looked to see where she had come from, and noticed an exterior cellar door, lying somewhat ajar. I had seen the door before, but had never given it much thought. Such basements were common in the area and usually used for storage of old junk and tools.

I walked over and gently lifted wooden door, noting a large padlock that had been left open. Immediately I was hit with the smell of incense wafting up from the room below, and this further peeked my curiosity. It was probably one of her little love nests, I thought, disgusted by her negligence towards her family. But, disgust notwithstanding, I had to see what was in there.

The room was dark, but I could make out the furnishings. Tapestries and weavings lined the walls and floor. Huge bookcases filled with ancient looking tomes loomed in the rear corners. It was not your typical suburban basement. I caught sight of a faint orange glow and focused my attention on the dying ember of incense that had drawn me here. The smell had a smoky quality but was otherwise unfamiliar to me.

Looking around some more, I noticed candles, crystals and strange chalk drawings consisting of geometric patterns on various surfaces.

“Wow,” I said to myself. “I never knew she was such a hippy.”

One of the books lay open on a table ,and in the faint light I could make out the heading. In dark, Gothic script it read:

INCANTATION FOR PHYSICAL AUGMENTATION

Underneath that was the line:

INCLUDES VARIATIONS FOR INCREASED LIBIDO AND ENHANCED PUBESCENT DEVELOPMENT

It was at this point that I decided the woman was obviously insane, and my instincts told me that if I knew what was good for me I would get out of there at once. Such was my haste, that I didn’t notice Jessica watching me from behind a tree.

Now there have been times in my life where I have not been the most prudent fellow in the world, but when the chips are down I tend to trust my instincts. I had no idea what was going on over at the Wolf household, but I knew that whatever it was, it wasn’t normal. More than that, it was dangerous. It was for these reasons that, despite not really having anywhere else to hang out, I stayed away from the place for the next couple of weeks.

I had been accepted to a state university not far from home, and the summer was fast approaching its end. I figured I just had to stick it out a little longer and I would be so immersed in a whole new world of academia that I would forget all about what I had seen. Alas, I had reckoned without the persistence of Jim, not to mention his sister.

It was a Tuesday after noon and I was reading quietly in my room, trying to get a head start on some of my classes, when I was interrupted by a knock on the door. I wasn’t expecting any visitors, and was surprised to see Jim Wolf standing there on the porch. He looked less imposing that I remembered, rather slumped and tired, but he smiled at the sight of me.

“Oh hey! I haven’t seen you around in while, I was worried you’d moved away or something.”

“Hi… no, I’m still here. I’ve just been… busy.” I rubbed the back of my neck, uncomfortable.

“Well look, do you want to hang out for a while? I just got some new CDs. You could come over and listen to them, if you like.”

This was silly. There was no reason our conversation should feel so awkward. I felt bad about having so unceremoniously ditched my friend, without even giving him a reason. He seemed worried that I was mad or something, which of course I wasn’t. Then again, I couldn’t tell him the real reason for my avoidance of his place either.

After a pause that seemed very long from my end, I decided that I had overreacted. Jane was undoubtedly just one of those New Age weirdos who believe in spells meditation and listen to Yanni. That was no reason to throw away such a valuable ally in the war against boredom.

“Sure!” I smiled. “Just as long as it’s not that Nu-Metal garbage you usually listen to.”

The tension broke immediately and it was like old times all over again. The walk back to Jim’s house was a pleasant one indeed, both of us catching up with the other on the past two weeks. It seemed that the time had been just as dull for Jim as for me. Eventually, the conversation came around to Jessica.

“How’s she doing?” I inquired. The last time I had seen her, she had seemed pretty upset. Jim averted his eyes and looked uncomfortable.

“She’s okay, I guess. Actually, she’s been pretty quiet lately. I haven’t seen that much of her.”

“I hope she’s not still angry with me. I do like the kid, just not… like that.”

“Obviously!” Jim exclaimed. “Actually, I don’t know if it has anything to do with you. I think she’s been going through some…. physical changes.”

“Ah,” I said. I understood what he meant (or at least I thought I did) and Jim seemed uncomfortable with the subject, so I let the conversation lapse into silence for the rest of the trip.

AT Jim’s house little had changed. It was still messy, and his new CDs displayed the same characteristic lack of taste that I had feared, but that didn’t bother me. There was no sign of Jane, but I did catch a glimpse of Jessica, although she didn’t intend it. She was sneaking past the door to Jim’s room just as I happened to be on my way to the fridge to fetch a couple of drinks.

At once I saw what Jim had meant. She had clearly developed significantly in the last two weeks. When she saw me, her face turned red with embarrassment, and she bolted form the room, but as I reflected that, if I didn’t know better, I might mistake her for a much older girl. It was amazing what a difference such a short time could make. I commented on this to Jim when I returned with the drinks, but he seemed eager to avoid the subject, so I let it drop, at least until the next time I saw her.

My relationship with Jim quickly resumed its former closeness, and soon we were spending most of our free time together again. I was delighted to find out that he was planning to attend the same college as I.

“Hey, maybe we can be roommates!” I suggested, half joking.

“I think I’m going to keep on living at home. My mom’s not around a lot, you know, and someone has to take care of Jessica.” He didn’t seem happy about this, and I was sorry I brought it up. I too was planning to keep living at home. Why pay for a dorm if you don’t have to? All the same, I felt bad for Jim. The situation his mother had put him in was unfair, to say the least, and the thought of it made me angry.

It was only a couple of days later when I got the chance to vent my frustrations. Jim and I were planning to go into town to see a concert (my choice, as you recall Jim has no taste in music) and I was letting myself into the house. At this point we saw so much of each other that I didn’t bother knocking half the time, so I just opened the door and walked in, when I was surprised by the sight of Jane standing there. From the look on her face, she was obviously equally shocked at my sudden appearance.

“Oh!” She exclaimed, then quickly regaining her composure, said: “I think Jim is out back with his sister.”

I thanked her and started to walk away, when I remembered how angry I felt at her irresponsible parenting. I am not a confrontation person by nature, but I hadn’t seen this woman in weeks, and if I didn’t tell her off now, who knows if I would ever get the chance?

“You know,” I said, taking a step towards her. “I think it’s really unfair the way you make Jim do all the parenting around here. He’s eighteen and he deserves his freedom, not the responsibility of parenting, a responsibility that you should be handling.”

I started to make a comment about what I believed she was doing when she should have been with her kids, but decided that would be in poor taste. It was then that I notice she was cowering slightly, as though afraid of me. Jeez, I thought. I hadn’t been that harsh. I didn’t yell our anything, but now this seemed to be shrinking away from me like she thought I was going to hit her.

It was then that I noticed that I was actually looking down at her a little. That couldn’t be right, I remembered her towering over me the last time I had spoken to her. At first I thought she was just slumping in response to my tirade. This was partially true, but no slump could cause that much of a difference in height. The Jane I had first met had been easily 6’4” and this woman couldn’t be more than 5’9”. I opened my mouth to say something, but then I realized I had no idea what to say. You don’t just ask a person if they’re shrinking.

Instead, I mumbled an apology and quickly left the room, heading towards the back door. I tried to convince myself that she had just been wearing some really high heels before, but somehow my brain just wasn’t buying it.

I found Jim in the back yard talking with some attractive young woman whom I hadn’t met before. Ordinarily I would have asked about her right away, but I was a little shaken and my manners were on the fritz.

“Jim, we should probably get going if we’re going to make the show,” I interrupted rudely

“Oh hey Lars. Okay, just let me get my ticket.” He turned to the girl. “You going to be okay by yourself tonight, Jess?”

She smiled winningly, glancing at me from the corner of her eye. “Sure thing. Mom’s home and anyway, I’m not a little kid.” I can’t be sure, but I think she winked at me as she uttered that last line.

I did a double take. This was Jessica? That was impossible! Jessica was thirteen years old and 5’2”. The young lady standing before me had small, but clearly developed breasts, the beginnings of an hourglass figure and stood at least 5’6”. I guessed her age to be about sixteen. What was going on here? I don’t care where you’re from, kids don’t grow that fast, but unless Jim had another sister also named Jessica there seemed to be no other explanation. I waited, with infinite patience, until we were a fair distance down the street before asking.

“Dude, what happened to your sister?” She looks three years older all of a sudden!”

Jim averted his eyes, uncomfortable. “Yeah, I know. She’s in the middle of some crazy growth spurt.”

“Crazy is right!” I protested, ignoring his obvious desire to drop the subject. “Doesn’t that seem odd to you? She’s like four inches taller since a couple of weeks ago.”

“Well, I don’t know. I’ve seen pictures of my mom as a teenager and it seems like a similar thing happened to her, so maybe it’s genetic.”

“It didn’t happen like that for you, though?”

He shook his head. I changed the subject abruptly, struck by an idea. “Hey, how tall is you mom?”

Again, he seemed like he didn’t want to answer. “Um, I’m not actually sure. Pretty tall I guess..”

“Hmm,” I replied. That night I had a hard time focusing on the concert.

**************

I had an opportunity to confront Jessica directly a couple of days later. Since her brother was being less than forthcoming about something that was obviously not normal, I decided to go straight to the source. Okay, that’s not strictly true. I didn’t “decide” to find Jessica and bring up the subject of her growth, but I did run into her, and we did have a good talk.

I was on my way over to the Wolf household as usual. No plans to speak of, just bored and looking for something to do. My hand was on the knob of the front door, when suddenly it opened from the inside and there stood Jessica.

Even though it had only been two days since I had last seen her, it was obvious she had changed still further. Her breasts were larger, her legs were longer and she stood a couple of inches taller. My God, she was almost as tall as me now! She also looked a little older, easily passing for seventeen. I stood there, mouth agape, until Jessica broke the silence.

“Hi Lars. Hat’s the matter, don’t you recognize me?”

Her voice was definitely Jessica’s. A little lower in pitch and more mature sounding, but definitely hers. I struggled to remember that I was talking to Jim’s thirteen year old little sister.

“H- hi, Jessica. Ww, you’ve really changed a lot.”

She yawned and casually shifted her position so that she was leaning against the door frame, stretching her legs out provocatively. She was the picture of nonchalance.

“Yeah, I’ve been going through a little growth spurt I guess. So what’s new with you?”

I couldn’t get over how confident she seemed. She used to be so shy and withdrawn, now she seemed downright cocky. Whatever transformation had overcome her, it was obviously more than just physical.

“Er… not much. Is Jim around?”

“Yeah, I think so.” She tried to sound indifferent, but her voice betrayed a note of displeasure and her lips briefly turned down in a scowl before she caught herself. “Jim!” she called over her shoulder.

Jim appeared almost immediately. He didn’t look happy, but he brightened when he saw me. As he approached the door way, I was stunned at the sight of him standing next to his sister. I was used to Jim looming over me, but now he couldn’t be more than an inch taller, giving him a mere three inches on Jessica. The comparison gave me shivers, although for some reason I found it strangely arousing.

“I’ll see you later, Lars,” Jessica purred. “Stop by any time.”

When she had gone I tried once again to ask Jim about his height loss, but was as tight lipped as ever, finally definitively demanding that I let it drop. “Look,” he said. “I’m asking you as a friend. Just let it go, okay? It’s not something I can talk about.”

So, as a friend, I let it go, but from that point on, my morbid curiosity was insatiable. I spent less time hanging out with Jim, but in exchange I started covertly watching his house. There was a row of trees bordering on side of his property, and from there I could get a good view of the yard and even see through a couple of choice windows while remaining completely concealed. I felt a little guilty about spying on my friend, but if he wouldn’t talk I had no choice, or so I reasoned.

At first my efforts were not fruitful. The family didn’t venture outside the house much, and I couldn’t see much through the windows. However, Jessica would stroll out to collect the mail once a day, and each day she grew lovelier and more mature looking. I never saw so much as a hint of Jane.

Since I had largely stopped my visits, Jim started coming over to my house to hang out. He was definitely shrinking, and was now shorter than me, but I didn’t bring it up. He seemed embarrassed about the situation, but likewise said nothing. Once, Jessica came over to look for him. I opened the door and was stunned by the woman standing before me.

I had to raise my gaze several inches to meet her eyes. She was probably just a little over six feet tall at this point. She also appeared to be a couple of years older than me, with the most incredible body I had ever seen. At the sight of me, she smiled winningly.

“Hi Lars! Is my little brother here? I need him to come home and help me with dinner.”

The word “little” didn’t escape my notice, but Jim came out and stood beside her it seemed all too appropriate. He was no more than 5’6” at this point and Jessica positively dwarfed him. I would have felt bad for him, but I was too busy staring.

She put her arm around her brother’s shoulder protectively and smiled at me again. “Okay, we’ll see you later, Lars. Maybe the two of us could go see a movie or something sometime.”

I nodded without thinking, still mute. It was only after she had gone that I realized what I had agreed to.

This was the turning point where I decided enough was enough. There was something rotten in the Wolf household, and I intended to find out what. And so, under cover of dark, I used all of my cunning to embark on a dangerous espionage mission.

As it turns out, all of my cunning is not nearly as impressive as it sounds. I simply walked over to the house at night and started snooping around. The lights were out and I circled the house twice before starting to feel foolish. I’m not sure what I was hoping to find, but without breaking and entering, it wasn’t going to be much. I balked at this prospect, not wanting to go too far down the road of criminality, but then I remembered the cellar door. I could make my entrance through there and see where it led me.

I’m lucky it was unlocked, or that would have stopped my adventure right in its tracks. Fortunately, I had no problems gaining entry.

The hinges were rusty, and I winced at the creaking sound they made as I opened them. The cellar was pitch black, and I patted myself on the back for having the foresight to bring a flashlight along. The room was just as I had remembered it, the crystals, the chalk drawing and that strange smell of incense. I was about to begin looking through the books when I saw a sudden movement out of the corner of my eye. Thinking it was a rat I whirled on it, my flashlight blazing with righteous fury. I had to stifle a yelp as the beam landed on, not a rat, but a woman. Well, “woman” may be an exaggeration.

The figure was about a foot tall, wrapped in a piece of white linen, leaving her little legs provocatively exposed. When the light had hit her, she froze against the wall like a deer in the headlights, and I was able to approach closer. Suddenly a realization hit me: this tiny woman was Jane!

“Oh my God,” I said out loud.

Before I could react further, I felt a large hand on my shoulder. I turned slowly, and there was Jessica. She was even bigger than before, probably 6’4”, and I tilted my head back to look up at her.

“What’s going on here?” I stammered. Jessica let out a long sigh, shaking her head slightly.

“I suppose it’s just as well you found out. I was going to tell you soon anyway, but I was hoping to be a little more tactful than this.”

“What?” I had never been more confused in my life.

“Look, Lars. I like you a lot, I always have. When you said you didn’t want anything to do with me, I was crushed. Maybe I overreacted a little, but I was thirteen, what do you expect?”

“”You’re still thirteen,” I protested.

“No,” she said forcefully. “Listen, let me explain. My mother’s a witch,” Behind me a heard Jane shift uneasily at this. “And so am I. We come from a long line of witches. So when you said I was too young, I decided to be proactive. I’m twenty-one now, not just in body, but also in mind, maturity, everything. This is powerful magic we’re talking about.”

“But- but why did you get so big?” I was still reeling from the idea that witches were real (but given the circumstances, who was I to argue?)

Jessica blushed slightly. “Well, as you know great height runs in the family, but once I started getting tall, and once I saw the effect it had on you, I kind of helped it along a bit. I really like being tall, it turns out.”

“But-“ I began again.

“I know what you’re going to say,” she interrupted. “My mom and brother. All this had to come from somewhere,” she gestured to her incredible body. “A lot of their size went towards the aging process , much more than I expected actually. Plus I guess I was jealous of your relationship with Jim, so I didn’t feel bad about taking some of his size. Ah, speak of the devil.”

I turned and saw Jim coming down the stairs, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He was tiny! I doubted if he was taller than 5’2”.

“But what about your mom?” I protested. “She’s only a foot tall, for God’s sake! How is she supposed to live?”

For the first time during our exchange, Jessica frowned. “Listen, you don’t know what it was like living with her as a mother. She was never around, always out with her boyfriends. Jim and I were basically abandoned. I assure you, she’s not worth your pity. Besides, I take good care of her. It’s not like I’m going to let her die or anything.” I guess she could see the look of uncertainty on my face, because she cut me off before I could say anything.

“Look, like I said, I really like you. All I’m asking for is one date. Give me a chance. If you don’t have a good time, I promise I’ll leave you alone forever, deal?”

I look up at her magnificent form, still undecided. Suddenly she bent down and planted a kiss on my lips that I will never forget. That sealed the deal. “Alright, one date.” It was funny to see a woman her size clap her hands in glee.

One date turned into two and two turned into four. Before In knew it, I realized I was in love with her. It was the night before I was to start college when she surprised me yet again.

“Baby, wouldn’t you like it if I were even taller?” she asked coyly.

I actually liked the idea, but was somewhat wary. “No more shrinking Jim,” I said emphatically.

She giggled. “That’s not what I had in mind.”

Suddenly I felt a lump in my stomach, my head spun, and Jessica seemed to grow before my eyes. I found myself looking straight at her throat.

“What the-“ I stepped forward and nearly tripped as my foot slid out of my shoe.

“Ok, that’s not funny, Jessica,” I said, realizing what she had done.

“Oh but you’re so cute,” she laughed, tousling my hair playfully. I frowned at her and she softened. “Oh alright, I’m sorry. Come here and give me a hug.”

As I was engulfed by her giant embrace, I realized that I never wanted to be anywhere else. We’ve been together ever since. Jim ended up meeting and marrying a small Asian woman about his own size and they seem very happy together. As for Jane, I’m not really sure whatever happened to her, but I find it’s better not to ask.

Every few of years Jessica feels naughty and steals a couple of inches of my height, but honestly, I can’t say I really mind. Although if it keeps up, we may need to invest in a smaller dog.

The End.
